Dr. Osvaldo M Gonzalez, MD

Dr. Gonzalez holds an MD degree from the University of Puerto Rico. He completed internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Subsequently he went on to complete a research fellowship in Endocrinology at the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Disease at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda Maryland. His research at NIH involved insulin action and glucose transport.

Dr. Gonzalez is board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism as well as in Internal Medicine. 

He has been practicing endocrinology since 1992 and is a member of the Endocrine Society. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid disorders and thyroid cancer, diabetes, polycystic ovaries syndrome, osteoporosis, hypogonadism, pituitary and adrenal disorders. While using the most up-to-date evidence based medicine, he is exceptional at managing his diabetic patients with the latest and best technology and medicine. Dr. Gonzalez is highly experienced in managing diabetic patients on insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors, as well as, performing thyroid ultrasounds and fine needle aspirations.

He splits his time between his home in Central Maryland and Tilghman Island. When the weather allows he enjoys fishing and sailing on his boat, Groomit,

Dr. Gonzalez is accepting new patients in the St Michael’s and Silver Spring offices. 

Dr. Osvaldo Gonzalez will be available to continue your care and accept new patients via telemedicine or in person at our Silver Spring office.

If you decide to continue your care with a different physician, please call our office and request a copy of your medical records. We will ask you to submit a medical record request form that requires your signature and the name of your new physician. Once my office receives the form, a copy of your records will be transferred within 15 days. You do not need to request a copy of your records if you choose to remain under my care or with another doctor at the Capital Diabetes and Endocrine Associates group.
